Editorial comment.
It was with a little sadness that I read that Torrington Cavaliers are to make the burning of the Mayflower replica on Torrington Common on August 28th the very last of its kind, on their 50th anniversary. Many factors have led to this decision, including of course quite correctly environmental impact and concerns, but also that good old chestnut, everyone’s getting older and no one is coming forward to replace those giving their labour for good causes.
