In 2016 the Parish Council set up an Education Support Fund to help students, full or part-time, acquire a little extra funding towards their studies. The fund now runs completely independently from the Parish Council and raises its own funds, including a generous annual sum from a local donor.
If you are 16 years or over, have lived in Buckland Brewer Parish for a year or more, and you are about to embark on studies, or you are already studying, full or part-time, then you are eligible to apply for an Education Support Grant. Full-time can include school, college or university courses. Part-time can include evening classes, day release for apprentices or Open University. Other studies will also be considered. The monies awarded can be used for travel, laptops, course-related tools or any other financial support that is essential for the course you are taking.
All applications are treated anonymously.
For an application form please contact the Applications Co-ordinator Pat Blosse, Greenbank, Buckland Brewer, EX39 5LU, 01237 452389, or by e-mail pblosseedsupp@gmail.com. Alternatively, download a pdf version here.
