Readers, most of you will already be aware, but the severity of this storm has been upgraded during the course of today.
The actual storm itself may not last too long – Friday from 3 a.m. until the evening – but the impacts could be significant. The weather will continue windy for some days to come. The advice is batten down the hatches as best you can during Thursday.
