This website is run by Buckland Brewer Parish Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
There are ‘Accessibility Tools’ on each page of the website, which by clicking on give your various options to me your viewing experience acceptable to your needs.

How accessible is this website?
We know that some parts of this website are not yet fully accessible:
- some text might not reflow in a single column when you change the size of the browser window
- you might not be able to modify the line height or spacing of text
- most PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen reader software
- you cannot skip to the main content when using a screen reader
- you cannot magnify the map that is displayed at the bottom of most pages or on the Home/Parish Map page
We are working towards resolving all these issues and plan to be WCAG 2.1 (AA) compliant by September 2020.
