From 1st August, as government guidance to shielders comes to an end, the “Covid support” team co-ordinated from our community shop is to be stood down.
Many parishioners may recall the original purpose of the team was to ensure that during lockdown, those who couldn’t get out or couldn’t get groceries delivered would not go without essential supplies and meds, and carry out other basic needs such as dog walking, and a number of the team have been very busy over the last 4 months.
Moving forward from 1st August, there will be a contingency plan in place:-
Any individual or household who needs to follow government regulations regarding quarantine i.e. they have had a positive test for Covid 19, or are obliged to quarantine as a result of Test Track and Trace, and are completely stuck for essential supplies or medication, should call Lyn Layton on 01237 451817. Lyn has a small list of people who are prepared to help the community in such an emergency.
It remains simply to thank the Covid team, and the team coordinators at the shop, on behalf of the entire community, for their ongoing invaluable support during these difficult times.
