Readers, we all know that Covid restrictions are formally over. I also apologise for mentioning Covid after I said I wouldn’t, unless there was something significant to report.
Most of us are aware that in recent days there has been an exponential rise in Covid cases across the country. Depending on individuals attitudes towards the latest strain, certainly amongst those I have spoken to, there is a range from “it’s only a sniffle, don’t know what all the fuss is about” to ” I live with a vulnerable person, I’m becoming terrified to go out and don’t know where it will all end”. I suspect there is no right nor wrong to any of this.

At a district level, the biggest increase was in Torridge where cases more than doubled……”.
Masks aren’t the greatest but our shop still asks for us to wear one and there may be some mileage in trying to protect others elsewhere is certain areas, even if it’s only for the next few weeks. It’s up to each of us, but the gesture would, I’m sure, be appreciated. Even if it only helps to prevent a household member getting a positive result which stops them going out to do something they really wanted to.
