Most drivers, whether delivery vans, residents, or visitors, have now understood that the 20 m.p.h. set here some years ago is neither a fashion nor a fad, nor someone being petty with rules, but essential to the safety and wellbeing of the community and the environment.
Sadly we are minus pavements (or footpaths) in many areas, and thus pedestrians (including wildlife and cats and dogs) are obliged to walk in the (rather narrow) road. Older pedestrians don’t always hear traffic, especially electric vehicles, and cannot always respond to an approaching vehicle that quickly.
So keep it up, keep setting that example to those who are less courteous. Your contribution is valued.
