Drivers (speeding ones, that is) may have noticed sometime ago that they no longer got “flashed”, and that since then the VAS disappeared from its placement at the top of the village.
That does not mean that the speed limit has changed. It remains at 20 m.p.h. and has not changed since it was introduced a number of years ago. It became 20 m.p.h. for a reason, and since then more very logical reasons have evolved.
What it does mean is that the device is broken, and despite several attempts at “on the spot” repairs under remote guidance, the manufacturers must repair or replace it. It will return.
