The speed advice light has been repaired and as soon as two members of the parish council are available to carry out the work, it will be re-installed at the top of the village. This serves to advise you should you be driving over the speed limit which is set at 20 m.p.h. Please observe it (many simply don’t realise how fast they are travelling) – it was set to that speed for a very good reason. If a pedestrian in the road asks you to slow down, the preferred response is neither an expletive nor an obscenity – thank you.
For those who have been convinced that lorry traffic far outweighs that of the “domestic” vehicle, be assured. A recent exercise – some will have noticed they have been driving over two cables at the top of Orleigh Hill – advises the Parish Council that cars outnumber lorries and buses by ten to one.
