Many readers will be aware – some of you will remember as you were part of the project some years ago – that Buckland Brewer has created and maintains a “24/7” Air Ambulance landing site. This is the Amenities Field next to the Buckland Brewer Hall, and hygiene linked to this is one of the reasons why dogs are not permitted on this field. Whilst mentioning this we should offer our thanks to two members of the community who test the landing light (operated from the helicopter) weekly, and are on call-out should it be needed.
We also have a back up landing site suitable for daytime landing only which is the playing field at the top of the village.
