We’re all sick to the teeth (and suspension) of potholes, and the deteriorating surfaces of our roads. While there are no absolute guarantees to get them all fixed, we have it in our own hands to be persistent, report these problems, and create a very loud noise. These problems are the responsibility of our County Council, and in recent days our County Councillor James Morrish has told us that “pester power” carries the most weight.
10 separate complaints to County Council carry more value than 10 complaints directed at our Parish Council who would complain on our behalf. However passionate, their complaint on our behalf counts as only one complaint, even if it is believed that such a complaint carries more authority.
So let’s get reporting and deafen County Hall. If you encounter a pothole in the parish, report it (don’t think “I’ll do it later”, and then forget or leave it to someone else). We have to become a nuisance.
