TVC is a Bideford-based registered charity that uses volunteer drivers to help those who are unable, either temporarily or permanently, to drive themselves. The journeys are mainly to get people to local and longer-distance medical and dental appointments, but by agreement and arrangement can also be used for the nicer things like shopping and hairdressing. The passenger areas covered are Bideford and Torrington, and villages between.
Do you have time to spare to help in this way? There is no regular commitment – if you are offered a drive you have always the option to decline. Your fuel costs will be covered by a fee charged to the passenger. There are various rules and regulations but these are not onerous and to be expected.
