The Parish Council is, with the help of an excellent team headed up by Jo Miles, developing an Emergency Plan for the parish. It’s the sort of thing that we all hope would never need to be used, but its good to be prepared. Part of the plan is to provide everyone who wants one a ‘Home Plan’ – a list of essential supplies and contacts for use in an emergency. We need your help to finish drafting that list. The larger piece of work is now at the stage of finding individuals who have the skills, resources and willingness to help in an emergency situation. The nature of emergencies is that you don’t know when or what is going to happen, but our two highest risks are loss of power and severe weather conditions. If you think you can offer equipment or knowhow (or both) in those sort of situations, we’d love to hear from you.
The Buckland Brewer community is fantastic at pulling together when its called upon. We just want to make sure we can harness that effectively when the need arises.
