Following recent revelations about money being requested, I have contacted Devon & Cornwall Police for advice:
1) If you have given money, particularly if it has not been repaid, you are encouraged to report by calling 101 or via the website (www.devon-cornwall.police.uk). This will enable the Police to build up a full picture of what has happened.
2) You should also log a complaint with EVRI, as access to the community has been via the individual’s engagement as a delivery driver.
Recovery of outstanding money will likely be down to making a civil claim via the Small Claims Court. There is a fee (sliding scale according to the value of the debt), so it may not be viable for smaller sums.
